BANKU
Picnics have become organizational super-tasks instead of enjoying a laid back afternoon outside. There are so many things to prepare that we often
forget to bring something essentials.
Banku is the love story of a basket and a blanket which came together to combine into a perfect picnic. By bringing all the essential item together, we will never forget anything.

BACKGROUND
Picnic is a classic event during summer time. In New York, we can see a lot of people go to picnic with family or friend. But the preparation behind this enjoyable moment is considerably difficult. It makes people not be able to say go and just go.

Issue
“Can we design a product for picnics and let people enjoy picnics in anytime they go?”
DESIGN PROCESS
Blanket are one of the most important item for picnics but they are also easy to forget. Inspired by drawstring bags and traditional Asian fabric packaging, we think if the picnic bag can transform between bag and blanket, it can help people easily use it as a picnic bag. The motion of opening to eat that came from the fabric packaging also inspired us to make the bag foldable.

IDEATION
Considering and experiencing the real picnic, we found we not only need the bag and blanket but the container is also important. Therefore, we decided to create a family object for picnic. This family will include a bag, tray and container.
